Jassi was a young woman who came to Ista Weyr to assist the Weyr while they waited for a new Healer to replace Gatrial. She was irrepressibly cheerful and easily slipped into a position of authority. She had previously helped her father's inn at Ista Hold. Dalia intended to present her as a candidate at the next hatching, so she may have become a queenrider, or even Weyrwoman, at some point.
