Sebell is the current MasterHarper of Pern, having succeeded MasterHarper Robinton upon the latter's retirement in the 15th Turn of the 9th Pass. Sebell is the grandson of Rantou, who in turn was the cousin of Mastersinger Merelan, Robinton's mother. Sebell is thus 2nd cousin once removed to Robinton, and third cousin to Camo.
Sebell is the husband of Menolly.
