The Taren River(or River Taren) is the river that runs across the north edge of the Two Rivers, joining with the White River at its eastern end. The village of Taren Ferry is on the river. The spring melt from the Mountains of Mist often cause it to overflow its banks, but at the best of times it is wide and deep and full of treacherous currents.
In ancient times it was called the Tarendrelle, and formed the northern border of Manetheren. Aemon destroyed its bridges when his army retreated across it during the Trolloc Wars.
