The Pernese count time a little, on a small scale, similarly to Earthfolk, with different names. The year is called a Turn (always capitalized). It is divided into 12 months of 30 days each, with 2 extra days, one at the beginning of the Turn, and one at the end, called Turnover. Months are numbered, as are days of the week, known as sevendays. Thus, they have first month, second month, third month, etc., and Firstday, Secondday, Thirdday, etc. It is not clear why the original names were lost.

On a larger level, Turns are generally counted by Passes and Intervals.
